Slap Kozjak
Photo: Mark Iverson · CC BY-SA 2.0
A 15 m fall dropping into a perfectly round chamber carved out of the rock — the most photogenic waterfall in Slovenia.
Kozjak falls into an almost enclosed circular hall, open at the top, which makes it look more like an interior than a landscape. A boardwalk and gallery reach the pool. The walk from Kobarid or the nearer car park takes twenty to thirty minutes on a good path with some steps and a suspension bridge over the Soča. It is best in the morning when light enters the chamber, and it is genuinely crowded in August.
Forest path, steps, a boardwalk gallery and a suspension bridge. Slippery near the falls.
