Slap Savica

A 78 m karst waterfall emerging straight out of the rock face, reached by around 550 steps.
Savica is the source of the Sava Bohinjka and the subject of France Prešeren’s epic Baptism on the Savica, which gives it a place in Slovenian literature as well as its landscape. The water emerges from the cliff rather than flowing over it, splitting into an A-shape. The approach is a maintained path of roughly 550 steps from the car park, taking about twenty to twenty-five minutes up. Flow is dramatic in spring snowmelt and can be modest in a dry late summer.
Approximately 550 stone and timber steps with handrails. There is no step-free alternative route to the falls.
