restaurant
A traditional inn on Radovljica’s medieval square with a working honey-bread workshop in the cellar.
Lectar has been an inn since 1822 and serves substantial traditional Slovenian cooking in low-ceilinged rooms on the old square. Its distinguishing feature is the lectar workshop in the cellar, where decorated honey-dough hearts are still made and painted by hand — a craft that is part of Slovenian folk tradition and which visitors can watch or take part in. It is touristed but not cynical, and it works well with children.
A historic building; the gingerbread workshop is in a cellar reached by stairs.
