Why visit
Radovljica’s old town is one short, wide street of painted facades ending in a church — it takes twenty minutes to see and is almost always calm even when Bled is at capacity. It holds the Museum of Apiculture, which matters more than it sounds: Slovenia has a genuine beekeeping tradition, the Carniolan honey bee is native here, and the painted beehive front panels in the collection are a distinctly Slovenian folk art. The town is the obvious lunch or late-afternoon escape from Bled.
