Why visit
Tolmin is the administrative centre of the lower Soča valley and the least touristed of the three valley towns. Its draw is the Tolmin gorges — the lowest point of Triglav National Park, where the Tolminka and Zadlaščica cut narrow slots through the rock — and its position at the mouth of the Baca and Šentviška plateau roads. Two large summer music festivals use the riverside meadow at Soča’s confluence, which is worth knowing when booking.
