Ljubljana Zoo

Živalski vrt Ljubljana

A small zoo on the wooded slope of Rožnik, focused on European and Slovenian species.

About

The zoo is modest by international standards and mostly better for it — it is set in real woodland on the south side of Rožnik, with a strong emphasis on native fauna including brown bear, lynx, wolf and the Lipizzaner. It takes about two hours with young children and has a good playground. The site is on a slope, which is worth knowing with a pushchair.
