O mestu
Olimje began as a sixteenth-century Renaissance manor and became a Pauline monastery. Its pharmacy, fitted out around 1700, is among the oldest in Europe and retains its painted cupboards and ceiling. The church next door has an elaborate gilded altar. There is a herb garden, and the area around has become known for chocolate makers and a deer farm, which makes it an easy half-day alongside the thermal baths at Podčetrtek.
