Perché visitarlo

Lendava is the last town before Hungary and Croatia, and the only part of Slovenia with a Hungarian-speaking majority — every street sign, every official notice and the name of the municipality itself are in both languages. The Vinarium tower stands above the vineyards on the ridge behind the town: 53.5 m, 240 steps or a lift, and from the top Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia and Austria are all visible on a clear day. The castle below it holds the local museum, the thermal water here is the same dark paraffin-rich kind as at Moravske Toplice, and the wine road through the Lendava hills is lined with small cellars that mostly sell at the door.
