O mjestu

Ptujska klet has been in continuous use since 1239, which makes it the oldest wine cellar in the country. Beneath the town it holds a large archive collection, the oldest bottle dating to 1917, and the cellar tour and tasting take in both the history and the Štajerska range — dry Rhine riesling, sauvignon, furmint (šipon), and the traditional sparkling wines. It is a five-minute walk from the castle hill and works well as the second half of a Ptuj afternoon.
