Strunjanski klif in Mesečev zaliv
La plus haute falaise de flysch de l'Adriatique, tombant de 80 m vers une baie de galets tranquille en contrebas.
The Strunjan cliff is the tallest flysch cliff on the whole Adriatic coast and the only stretch of natural coastline of its kind left in Slovenia, protected as a landscape park. A clifftop path runs from Strunjan through pine and salt-tolerant scrub with views straight down to the water. Moon Bay at its foot is reached by a steep path and is the least developed swimming spot on the Slovenian coast — pebbles, no facilities to speak of, and a long walk in, which is why it stays quiet.
Unfenced cliff edge with an 80 m drop, and the cliff is actively eroding — keep well back from the lip and do not sit beneath the face on the beach.
The clifftop path is uneven earth and rock. The descent to Moon Bay is steep, loose and unsuitable for anyone unsure on their feet.
