Brewing began in Laško in 1825 and the Zlatorog brand — named after the golden-horned chamois of Slovenian legend — is the country’s most recognisable beer. Guided visits of the brewhouse and bottling line with a tasting are available by prior arrangement for groups, and the town’s July Beer and Flowers festival is a substantial regional event. It combines easily with the thermal baths in the same town.
